In the digital age, couples have adapted to keeping the flame alive through digital methods. The most popular method is sexual dating, defined as “sending sexually explicit images via cell phone.” But data shows that sexual dating, especially among teenagers, are often accompanied by risky behaviors such as sexual harassment and unwanted sexual advances. So, the Women’s Health Psychology Lab conducted an online survey to examine the benefits of sexual dating and adult relationships. “Most of the research on dating is about teenagers and young adults,” she said in an interview. We wanted to see the role that dating plays in relationships between them. The percentage of respondents who reported having had sexual intercourse at least once Forty-three percent were in committed relationships, 43 percent were married, and the rest. The survey also explored sexual dating, motivations, and satisfaction. The researchers found that responses varied by level of commitment. High levels of sexual dating among those who were not overly committed to their relationships had higher levels of satisfaction. Meanwhile, no significant relationship was found between high levels of sexual intercourse and levels of satisfaction among those who were in “very committed” relationships.
